Alan Shatter, I am pro-choice. This is simply a disgrace. I want to say more but cant. I live in your constituency, this is heartbreaking to even say that, that I have to make a vain manipulative tactic and comment on parish pump politics to motivate something to save life.

well done for providing this tool...I really hope this opportunity is taken by as many as possible to support pro choice and voice our opinions...this is 2012 and yet.the amount of women in this country that take the ferry or flight to the UK in order to face the hell of a termination abroad is shameful! in this day and age!!! this is the first step in the right direction of Irish people taking responsibility for the need for change, to support these women, to remove the blind spot that we are glaringly in denial of the harm these laws do to women for health and psychological reasons.Wake up those who voted no and listen to the people you serve!!! and to those absent....on such an important issue....I would say they should remain absent from that seat.If they cannot even face the question then they do not deserve their seat!!!!

YOU ARE RIGHT. IF SOMEONE CAN NOT FACE THEIR JOB, THEY SHOULD BE REMOVED. THE WORK IS IMPORTANT. ITS IMPORTANT FOR ONE TO SHOW UP AND BE PRESENT. TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.
ALSO, IT SEEMS THE DEMONIC FORCES WHICH SEEK TO COME THROUGH A WOMAN VIA RAPE AND FORCED SEX AND EVEN MANIPULATIVE SEX ARE TRYING THEIR BEST TO CONTORL THESE LAWS. THEY ARE BEING PUSHED OUT OF EARTH AND THEY DON'T LIKE THAT AT ALL. THIS IS THE REAL WAR HERE AND NOW. THE STANDARD MUST BE RAISED. EACH OF US HAS TO RAISE THE STANDARD IN OUR OWN LIVES AND SO WE MUST ALSO RAISE THE STANDARD FOR OTHERS. IF NECESSARY WE MUST GO UNDERGROUND ABOUT OUR CHOICES AND DO IT DSICREETLY. FOR THAT IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT. WE MUST BECOME VERY DISCREET ABOUT OUR ACTIONS. DURING HAFIZ'S TIME SUFI'S WOULD BE KILLED IF FOUND OUT, SO HAFIZ; LIKE SO MANY OTHERS WENT UNDERGROUND TO HIDE FROM THE ATROCITIES BEING COMMITTED TO THEIR KIND. AND SO HIS WORDS LIKE SO MANY OTHERS WERE VEILED AND WOULD STILL TEACH THE TEACHINGS WITHOUT THEM BEING SO OUTWARDLY 'SEEN' BY OTHERS. THIS IS KEY FOR WHAT MAY BE TO COME. HOWEVER, TO KEEP STRONG, AND TO HEAL ONESELF, AND TO BE STRONG AS A WOMAN, IS NECESSARY RIGHT NOW. CONSIDER THIS: REMEMBER WHEN KING HEROD WAS SEEKING TO KILL ALL LITTLE BOYS BORN IN HIS KINGDOM BECAUSE HE GOT WORD THAT JESUS WOULD BE BORN SOON. HE DID NOT WANT SOMEONE TO RIVAL HIS POWER, AND THIS IS THE SAME AS NOW..ONLY NOW IT IS THE GIRLS...

Apologies for being English and male - I was just hoping Ireland (sorry, the Dáil and Church) would join the humanitarian 21st century. A woman's body = her choice. Not mine. Not yours. Hers. She's the one that's pregnant FFS! Grrrrr....

I am absolutely sickened that Jan O' Sullivan abstained as she sent me a rather long winded email claiming to support the cause, what a disgrace.
I am shocked by the amount of female tds that voted no. Do they not understand that every woman in Ireland is counting on them for support. It's pure cowardice, if they can't put on their big boy pants and do their jobs they should stand down and let some actual adults take their place.

Important to do this: the next election may be 2-3 years away, but TDs have one overriding project - re-election. With the reduction in the size of the Dail of the the re-organisation of constituencies, TDs from the Government parties, particularly in Dublin, are very vulnerable to any shift of even 10s of votes - so let them -particularly Labour TDs- that your vote next time depends on this issue.
